ITM (e)SCART alumni have been speaking at the International Conference on AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections in Africa (ICASA).
The conference gave us the opportunity to meet up with our eLearning students and alumni during an ITM alumni meeting and an (e)SCART facilitators workshop.
The ICASA conference was themed “Own, scale-up & sustain” and has been held in Addis Ababa, from 4 until 8 December 2011.

The conference expected more than 10,000 delegates from around the world working in the fields of HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections, tuberculosis and malaria.
It encouraged particularly the participation of young researchers, health care workers, and community representatives from the developing world by providing scholarships.

ICASA provided a forum for exchange of scientific knowledge, experiences and best practices in Africa and around the globe in all dimensions of HIV/AIDS and STIs. Most importantly, ICASA served as a platform for sharing of progress towards universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support in the continent.
