An additional number of bibliographic databases are available on the Internet from external servers.
Several are freely accessible to anyone, here below some examples.

PubMed Central
From the US National Institutes of Health (NIH), is a free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature. In the UK there is similar website available: UK PubMed Central.

DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals)
Offers links to free, full-text, quality-controlled scientific and scholarly journals. The journals are in a wide range of subjects and languages.
FreeMedicalJournals
Contains access to 3316 Journals with free full, or partial, access to their contents. This website is managed by Bern Sebastian Kamps, Editor-in-Chief of Flying Publisher and the director of the Amedeo literature service.
BioMed Central
Online publisher of free peer-reviewed scientific articles in all areas of medical research and biology.
BIREME Virtual Health Library
Is a website, sponsored by the Regional Library of Medicine from Brasil and PAHO, that provides free access to resources like The Cochrane library; LILACS, a Latin American and Caribbean database; SciELO—Scientific Electronic Library Online and the VHL—Virtual Health Library. Has links to many health-information sources in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

World Health Organization

The WHO webpage is plenty of links to WHO publications, projects, initiatives and activities. On the “Health topics” tab these contents are organized alphabetically by topic.
